새한영문영어학 원고 작성 규정

  • 1. 『새한영어영문학』에 싣는 논문은 한국어 또는 영어로 쓰는 것을 원칙으로 한다.
  • 2. 한국어로 논문을 작성하는 경우, 원칙적으로 본문에 한자와 영어를 쓰지 않기로 하되, 꼭 필요한 경우에는 괄호로 처리한다. 단 논문 제목은 우리말로 쓰는 것을 원칙으로 한다.
  • 3. 한국어로 논문을 작성하는 경우, 외국어 고유명사 및 책이름은 한글로 표기하되, 처음 나올 때 괄호 속에 영문 표기를 제시한다. 책이름이나 잡지 이름은 겹낫표(『 』), 논문이나 단편은 낫표(「 」)로 묶는다. 외국어의 경우는 번역하되, 처음 사용할 때 괄호 속에 외국어 표기를 병행한다. 단, 영어학 논문의 경우에는 『언어』(Language)의 최신판 양식에 준한다.
  • 4. 한국어로 논문을 작성하는 경우, 외국어 인용문은 번역하되, 운문의 경우 원문을 번역문 바로 아래에 제시한다. 단 영어학 논문에서 영어 구절이나 문장을 분석하는 경우, 해당 구절이나 문장은 번역하지 아니한다.
  • 5. 그 밖의 규정은 미국 현대어문협회(MLA)의 『지침서』(MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers) 제 7판과 『언어』(Language)의 최신판을 따르되, 국내 서적이나 논문을 인용하는 경우 다음과 같은 요령으로 한다.
    • (1) 인용문헌(Works Cited)으로 처리하는 경우 :
      필자(또는 저자). 「논문제목」. 『책이름』. 편자. 지명: 출판사, 출판연도. 면수.
    • (2) 각주(footnote)로 처리하는 경우(가급적 피하기 바람) :
      필자(또는 저자), 「논문제목」, 『책이름』, 편자 (지명: 출판사, 출판연도), 면수.
    • (3) 온라인 자료, 표, 그림 등 기타의 경우는 한국영어영문학회의 『논문작성 요령』(2016)을 따른다.
  • 6. 인용문헌은 논문의 끝에 반드시 첨부하되, 영어로 작성한 논문은 ‘인용문헌’이라는 용어 대신에 ‘Works Cited’로 표기하며, 국내 문헌과 외국 문헌을 함께 인용 문헌으로 처리하는 경우, 한글로 작성된 모든 문헌정보를 영어로 표기하여 전체 인용문헌의 저자의 성을 ABC순으로 한다.
  • 7. 논문의 저자 표시는 2인 이상의 공동연구일 때 주저자는 첫 번째에 위치하고, 나머지 공동연구자(들)는 한글 가나다(외국인 저자는 알파벳) 순서로 명시한다.
  • 8. 한국어 논문과 영어 논문은 모두 150 단어 내외의 영문 요약을 논문 앞에 붙인다.
  • 9. 주제어(Key words)는 논문 요약문(Abstract) 바로 하단에 6개 이상 반드시 영어로 표기한다.

새한영문영어학 원고 작성 규정 (영어 버전)

  • 1. Articles to be submitted to The New Korean Journal of English Language & Literature (NKJELL) should be written in Korean or English.
  • 2. General rules of citation in an article on literature are given below. In other cases, conform to the guidelines of the 7th edition of the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers. Also refer to the guidelines (2016) of The Journal of English Language and Literature when Korean materials are cited.
    • (1) In-text Citations
      • ① In-text citation with author or without author’s name

      • ② Direct citations
        When less than 3 lines are directly quoted from the work of another author, double quotation marks should be used with page number in parentheses before a period. Single quotation marks are used for another quoted material within the double quotation marks.
        Marjorie Perloff states that the cubist painting “prevents us from applying the test of consistency” (72).
      • ③ Avoid using footnotes, if possible.

  • 3. General rules of citation in an article on linguistics are given below. In other cases, conform to the guidelines of the latest edition of Language. Also refer to the guidelines (2016) of The Journal of English Language and Literature when Korean materials are cited.

  • 4. Citations must be attached at the end of the article, and those in articles written in English should be entitled as “Works Cited”. When both Korean and foreign articles are treated as citations, Korean articles should be written in English under the alphabetical order of the author’s last name. Follow the format below but give additional bibliographic information in Korean using square brackets ([ ]).

  • 5. The first author of the article should be listed in the first position. When there are two or more authors, the remaining authors are listed in Korean alphabetical order or English alphabet order.
  • 6. For both Korean and English articles, an English abstract of no more than 150 words should be attached in front of the article as well as the English title of the article and the author’s name in English.
  • 7. At least 6 key words should be provided in English at the bottom of the abstract.
  • 8. The length of the manuscript should be 5,500 – 6,000 words in English, and the publication fee is estimated in accordance with The Rules on Review & Publication of The NKJELL.
